CPTSC 2007
Sustainable Growth in Scientific and Technical Communication:
Principled, Personal, and Programmatic
Proposal Submission for CPTSC 2007 has closed
The Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC) invites you to its 34th annual meeting, October 11-13, 2007, at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
CPTSC members and non-members submitted proposals on the conference theme: Sustainable Growth in Scientific and Technical Communication: Principled, Personal, and Programmatic. Position papers or poster presentations should discuss/illustrate how programs in technical and scientific communication are addressing some aspect of growth as it relates to our academic programs.
Examples of questions we particularly encourage include the following:
• How do we, collectively or individually, define healthy growth or progress in technical and scientific communication programs?
• What have been the trajectories of administrative careers, and what narratives can seasoned administrators offer to help the influx of novices learn from their experience?
• How have changes in the global economy affected programmatic growth?
• What fallout can we observe or anticipate from the rapid growth of our discipline?
• Would we characterize any state or aspect of growth as negative or unproductive?
The CPTSC conference emphasizes discussion. The audience includes people from new, as well as established, programs and anyone with programmatic interests in technical and scientific communication. We welcome participants from secondary, community college, or university levels, as well as representatives of industry.
