Akorli and Shrestha Receive Awards

PhD students Ernestina Akorfa Akorli and Kalpana Shrestha were honored at the Feminisms & Rhetorics conference (July 17-19) in  Durham, New Hampshire. Akorli received the Shirley Wilson Logan Diversity Scholarship in support of her paper, “Ghanaian Women’s Online Rhetoric: Investigating Social Media Emancipatory Movement and Liberatory Discourses.” Shrestha was awarded the Nan Johnson Outstanding Graduate Student Travel Award in recognition of her project, “Navigating Algorithmic Literacy Practices on Global South Women’s Digital Rhetoric for Advocacy and Identity Construction on Social Media.”
