Bernard Named Outstanding Undergraduate Mentor

Dr. Rebecca Bernard has been selected as the Outstanding Undergraduate Mentor in the Creative Activity category. Bernard was nominated by her mentee, Samantha Smith, for this inaugural Outstanding Undergraduate Mentor Award from the Office of Undergraduate Research  at REDE. This award recognizes ECU faculty who make a substantial impact on student learning, training, and/or personal/professional development through mentored research or creative activities. OUR recognizes that mentoring involves not just successfully directing research, theses, or projects, but also providing guidance and motivation in the context of students’ interests, passions, and personal circumstances.
