Banville Wins Outstanding Research Award
The PhD program in Rhetoric, Writing, and Professional Communication in English at East Carolina University announced that Morgan Banville is the winner of its 2021 PhD Outstanding Research Award.
Banville, a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, holds a Master of Arts in Teaching. She began the PhD program in 2019. Her research interests include the intersection of technical communication and surveillance studies, often informed by feminist methodologies. She is currently the Graduate Co-Editor of The Peer Review journal, and recently published in the proceedings of the 39th ACM International Conference on Design of Communication (SIGDOC ’21).
Banville is at work on her dissertation prospectus with plans to achieve doctoral candidacy this spring. She received a financial award for professional development/travel funds to be used in the academic year the award is given.
