Bauer Celebrates 25 Years with NCLR
Dr. Margaret Bauer reached her Silver Anniversary as Editor of North Carolina Literary Review. Since taking the helm of the journal in 1997, Bauer has spent the past 25 years working to transform NCLR into the Old North State treasure it has become, providing a platform for both North Carolina’s emerging writers and artists.
Bauer was named one of the ten ECU Women of Distinction in 2007 and received the university’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Research and Creative Activity in 2014. In 2017, Governor Roy Cooper granted her the North Carolina Literature Award. The following year, the North Carolina Humanities Council presented her with their highest award, the John Tyler Caldwell Award for the Humanities.
