Banville Selected as Fearing Doctoral Award Winner

Morgan Banville is the winner of the 2022 Fearing Award for doctoral student. Morgan is an ABD, 4th-year doctoral student who intends to complete her dissertation this coming spring. The committee was impressed with the breadth of Morgan’s teaching and how effectively she engages students in researching, thinking, and writing that they recognize as highly valuable for their futures.

A student in Morgan’s 3880 course said, “[in this course] Material is used to prepare a student for the future, as each genre of writing could be potentially used when working within an industry.” Students in Morgan’s 3820 class echoed this sentiment, explaining, “This course does a good job of making us analyze multiple pieces of literature and come up with conclusions and inferences. This type of analysis is essential in science.”
