Gueye Receives Helms Fellowship Grant

Dr. Marame Gueye and Maky Madiba Sylla received a $3720 grant (the Helms Fellowship) from Indiana University’s Lilly Library to support archival research for their upcoming documentary on Senegalese writer Boubacar Boris Diop. The acceptance letter stated, “The members of the Fellowship Committee were impressed by the interest and promise of [Gueye’s] work, and they are pleased that this award will help [Gueye] advance [her] research.”

The Everett Helm Visiting Fellowship program supports research in the collections of the Lilly Library for scholars residing outside the Bloomington area. Project proposals should demonstrate that the Lilly Library’s resources are integral to proposed research topics.
