Carter Publishes New Novel

Gary Carter, a 1973 alum, just published his novel, Not Dark Yet. The book is now available as an e-book and a paperback from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo, and numerous local independent bookstores. Carter provided a synopsis of the book:

A pledge made in college between two friends becomes a harsh reality three decades later when Henry calls unexpectedly upon Charlie to honor their pact to exit the planet on acceptable terms. In a story fueled by love and dark humor, the feisty Henry is determined to control his final days while also forcing his best friend to fully embrace the time he has left. Set in the mountain town of Asheville,

Not Dark Yet is a moving tale that digs deep into the power of friendship and acceptance of what Henry acknowledges, channeling Jackson Browne as “the one dance you’ll do alone.”
