Gueye Participates in African Feminist Institute

Dr. Marame Gueye was invited to participate in the first Feminist Summer Institute in West and Central Africa held in Dakar from August 1-3. This event convened 200 participants from West and Central Africa and the diaspora.

The theme of the Dakar Feminist Summer University was “From feminist theory to action in West Africa: Promoting research to guide strategies and co-construct our militant identity.” The Institute aimed to “create a diverse space to debate and co-build a strong feminist movement in West Africa and Francophone Africa, exploring different intersectional feminist theories.”

J-gen Senegal organized this initiative in partnership with the Collectif des féministes du Sénégal (CFS) and brings together “more than 200 participants of various profiles from the ECOWAS region, the African continent and the rest of the world. , to share scientific contributions and militant experiences.”
