Hoppenthaler Publishes Three Poems

John Hoppenthaler’s three poems from his forthcoming book, Night Wing over Metropolitan Area, were published recently.

Eureka Springs,” what Hoppenthaler calls a “quirky, herky-jerky” sonnet, is based on the history of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and appears in Valparaiso Poetry Review.

The second, “After Listening to the Weather, I Pull into a Bar,” appears in the new issue of Chautauqua: The Literary Journal of the Chautauqua Institution. Hoppenthaler be poet-in-residence at Chautauqua in early July.
