Squint and Bradley Presents at SNS Conference

On March 21, 2025, Dr. Kirstin Squint, and English M.A. student Anna Bradley presented papers at the 20th annual Southeast Native Studies Conference, held at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Their presentations, “Reckoning with Removal in Joy Harjo’s An American Sunrise” (Squint) and “Annette Clapsaddle’s Even As We Breathe as Tribalography” (Bradley) were part of a panel organized by Dr. Squint entitled, “Contemporary Southeastern Native Women’s Writing.” They were joined on the panel by Mandy Suhr-Systma (Emory University) and Miriam Brown Spiers (Kennesaw State University). UNC-Pembroke’s Southeast Native Studies Conference is the only national conference dedicated solely to the unique histories and cultures of Southeastern Native Americans.
