Timm Hackett
About
Timm Hackett began working at East Carolina University in 1999 after teaching at J.H. Rose and West Craven high schools. Before teaching, he was a golf columnist and sports writer, and he worked for Apple Computers.
Currently, Hackett serves on the University’s Academic Integrity Board. He served as the chair and vice-chair of the University Athletics Committee. He has served three times as chair of the University’s Distance Education and Learning Technology Committee. He has also chaired the University’s Unit Code Screening Committee. From 2015-19 and 2021, Hackett was a lead mentor for the Office of Faculty Excellence’s CourseFIT (formerly Teaching with Technology) workshops. During the 2019-2021 academic years, Hackett was one of ECU’s faculty leaders for the THCAS’s transition to the Canvas Learning Management System.
Hackett also serves as a department-level advisor for undergraduate students.
