Undergraduate Programs

For the Bachelor’s of Arts in English, you’ll take four core classes and eight electives, helping you to gain a solid foundation of reading, writing, and analytical skills. You may use your electives toward a certificate.

For the Bachelor’s of Science in Professional Writing and Information Design, you’ll take eight core courses and three electives, helping you to gain a solid foundation in professional, technical, and persuasive writing; two courses adding to your understanding of how language works; three courses in professional development preparing you for the workplace. You may use additional electives toward certificates, minors, or focus areas of your choice.

Ask the department about dual double-major options. Earn your BA and BS at the same time.

The Department of English offers minors in English, creative writing, film studies, professional writing and information design, and linguistics.
